Daniel Craig freely chastised movie executives and vIPs at Metro Goldwyn Mayer: Daniel Craig publicly chastised movie executives and top brass at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), telling them to “sort themselves out” so the next Bond movie can be made, the LA Times reported on Wednesday.
MGM owns the James Bond movie franchise and is the financial backer of the 23rd Bond film scheduled for release in 2012. The movie studio took the first step toward declaring bankruptcy last week by proposing a plan that requires the approval of MGM’s debtors.
“Unless MGM can sort themselves out, we can’t make a movie," Craig said in a recent interview in the LA Times. "It’s hard to talk about things that aren’t happening.
Craig, who played the fictional British spy in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, said he’s eagerly anticipating beginning production on the new Bond movie and hopes his portrayal of Bond lasts for a few more movies.“I’m really keen to get going, it’s as simple as that. And I’m hoping that, in a while, we will,” he said.
“I felt as if we were just getting going and that we’d get the chance to make a couple more. I’d like [to] fulfill the circle with the story.”
